Welcome to our section looking at the idents and continuity on BBC 1 between 1966 until 1968.
This was the first ident to feature the name BBC 1 on it, having previously just said BBC. This was due to the extended roll-out of sister station BBC 2.
The idents from this era are referred to as the “watch strap” due to looking like a wrist watch.

BBC 1 CONTINUITY – TALKBACK (1967)
This continuity, featuring the BBC 1 clock of that era, was for a chatshow programme called Talkback – presented by David Jacobs
