Welcome to our section looking at breakfast television on ITV
Until 1982, there was nothing but the testcard and engineering announcements on ITV while people had their breakfast. This would all change with the introduction to a national breakfast TV service, operated by a separate franchise to the other local ITV areas. Breakfast TV on ITV started on the 1st February 1982
