BBC One is the British Broadcasting Corporation’s flagship channel. BBC One came into being on the 20th April 1964, following the launch of sister channel BBC Two. BBC One has a wide range of programming however it is considered to be focused on more popular programming with higher audience figures compared to the more niche programming on BBC Two

Before BBC One went on the air, there was the BBC Television Service and this has its own section on our website which can be found here
