Ace of Wands (Thames Television, 1970 – 1972)

Ace of Wands was a children’s drama, made by Thames Television. The show ran for three series , the first two of which are missing – presumed wiped.

HELD IN THE BRITSET ARCHIVES	Episode #3.8 – Peacock Pie: Episode 1 (TX 6th September 1972)

The drama was about a man called Tarot (ace of wands being a card in a tarot deck). Tarot has mystical powers and works as a escapologist and stage performer. In the first two series he is joined by stage manager Sam, who is a reformed ex-convict and a woman called Lulli who has similar powers to Tarot.

Tarot and his companions use their skills to undertake investigations, assisted at times by a eccentric book shop owner called Mr Sweet, taking on various villains.

The final series consisted of Tarot with two new sidekicks, Chas and Mikki who were brother and sister. Mikki also had similar powers to Tarot in being telepathic.

Out of the forty six episodes made, only those from the third series survive (totalling twenty one episodes). All episodes from the first two series are missing.
