Welcome to our section looking at Independent Television, better known as ITV. ITV was the first commercial channel in the UK, launching in 1955. Originally it was made up of a network of regional ITV companies who who make programmes for their region, with some of the larger ones making programmes which were shown across the whole network.
This section will take a look at the history of ITV, and the TV channels that have been established by the company, past and present, along with looking at news and weather presentation and other related ITV content.
