The Adventures of Black Beauty was a children's period drama from London Weekend Television which ran for three series between 1972 and 1974. All episodes exist in the archives of ITV.

The show featured Dr James Gordon, a widower who went to live in the country in a village called Five Oaks, with his family, and setting up a practice there. He is presented with a black stallion which they called Black Beauty, after saving the life of its owner.

Much of the storylines in the show feature the horse and how it helped the family resolve issues with others, especially people doing bad deeds.

The show is very loosely based on the books of Anna Sewell
