Welcome to our section looking at the British Broadcasting Corporation, the BBC, which was the first UK broadcaster. The BBC started as the British Broadcasting Company in 1922. It later became a corporation, largely financed by the licence fee, which is paid by households who watch live television.
This section will take a look at the history of the BBC, and the TV channels that have been established by the corporation, past and present, along with looking at news and weather presentation and other related BBC content.
